Prompt

What you give the model to work with: the question, the instructions, the examples. Everything the model does starts from it.

How you’ll hear it

“Why is my result so generic?”

“Your prompt was generic. Give it the audience, the goal and an example.”

Avoid

Treating prompts as magic phrases. A clear brief matters more than clever wording.

The longer version

A prompt is the input to the model. Good prompts read like good briefs: the goal, the audience, the constraints, the format and an example of what good looks like. The skill is closer to briefing a capable new colleague than to writing code.
