MCP
A standard plug for connecting outside tools and data to an agent. The reason an agent can reach your calendar, your CRM or your analytics without somebody writing custom code for each one.
How you’ll hear it
“Can it read our CRM?”
“If there is an MCP connector for it, yes, without custom integration work.”
Avoid
Assuming any system can be connected safely without review.
The longer version
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting tools and data to AI applications, and it cuts integration work considerably. Every connection is still an access decision, so treat a new connector like any system integration: scope, permissions, review.
