Files and folders. The default workspace for a coding agent, and the simplest place to leave notes it will still find tomorrow.

Keeping important instructions only in chat history.
The longer version
For document and coding agents, the filesystem is the main workspace. It is also the simplest durable memory: a note left in a file survives the session, and people can read and edit it too.
